Exaton Ni56 (GTAW)

Exaton Ni56 is a low carbon nickel-chrome-molybdenum alloy of type alloy C-276. It is a versatile alloy with excellent wet corrosion resistance in oxidizing and especially in reducing media. Applications for Exaton Ni56 are found in aggressively corrosive media such as chemical processing plants, pollution control, pulp and paper production, waste treatment and for the recovery of sour natural gas. However, in oxidizing chloride containing environments alloy UNS N06022 (2.4602) is preferred where Exaton Ni54 is a better matching welding consumable. Exaton Ni56 is used for joining alloy UNS N10276 (2.4819) and other nickel-chrome-molybdenum alloys. Exaton Ni56 is used for joining and overlay welding with TIG. It can also be used for dissimilar metal joining of nickel alloys, stainless steels and low-alloy steels. Applications for Exaton Ni56 are found in cryogenics, components in pulp and paper plants such as bleaching vessels, flue gas scrubber systems, components in sour-gas service, sulphuric acid coolers, chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide atmosphere. Exaton Ni56 is also used in combustion-resistant components for high pressure oxygen service.

Where To Buy Request Information

For SAW Stainless Steel Welding in Heavy Duty Environments

Developed from a legacy of over 80 years in specialty alloy filler metals, Exaton (formerly Sandvik Welding Operations) is the leading brand in high-quality, corrosion-resistant filler metals. Products are made for welding stainless steel and nickel alloys in the most demanding environments.

Unbeatable Quality in SAW Wire

Wire quality is consistent from batch to batch in terms of chemistry, mechanical properties and dimensional tolerances. Get consistent welds with no need to trim the parameters.

Innovative Corrosion-Resistant Chemistry

Exaton's innovative chemistry provides high corrosion resistance with increased content of chemical elements such as Cr and Mo. It also delivers productivity improvements, such as permissible finished chemistry with a single layer weld overlay in applications that traditionally required two or even three layers.

SAW Flux with Less Moisture & Damage

Steel drum packaging delivers high moisture resistance and less damage during shipping and handling. This better protects the flux inside. Available in 20-25 kg drums.

SAW Flux that Helps You Save

Electroslag welding is similar to submerged arc strip cladding. The difference, however, is in the flux. ESW flux provides increased speed and fewer cladding layers (weld deposit), resulting in an overall lower cost of operation. Savings are in consumable costs and fewer man hours required.
