Rutile coated electrode for welding 18Cr12Ni3Mo -type steels. Also suitable for welding stabilized steels of similar composition. The electrode is especially designed for welding of thin walled pipes. Diameters 1.6 - 2.5mm. It can be used in all positions including vertical down.
Performance Benefits
Over the last few decades, a significant amount of applications that were traditionally welded with covered electrodes have been transferred to more productive methods, such as submerged arc and flux cored welding. However, for applications where flexibility is essential, the covered electrode is often the best solution. ESAB stainless steel covered electrodes provide great quality, consistency, and corrosion-resistance in a full line of grades.
Electrode Types for Stainlesss Steel
Covered electrodes for stainless steel welding are categorized according to their coating composition into: rutile (easiest to use), basic (for more demanding applications), and high deposition (contains high amounts of iron powder in the coating for high productivity) types.
Factory Fresh Stainless Steel Electrodes, Straight from the Pack
ESAB's VacPac™ packaging is hermetically sealed and vacuum-packed to protect covered electrodes from moisture pick up and re-absorption from the air. All of ESAB's stainless steel electrodes are supplied in VacPac, ranging from 0.7 kg (1.5 lb) to 2 kg (4.4 lb) in 3-6 package cartons.
The small diameter electrodes are supplied in a smaller outer package CT in order to suit fabricator consumption, simplify storage and handling, and reduce overall investment.
