FILARC 27P

This low hydrogen electrode is specially designed for downhill welding circumferential joints in pipes. The low hydrogen weld metal provides high notch toughness and excellent ductility to reduce the risk of cracking. The electrode is used particularly for pipelines, compressor stations, hot tapping and associated work using pipe steels in API 5LX52 to X70 grades in the oil and gas distribution industries, also process piping etc. Productivity is overall 25-30% faster than cellulosic electrodes and 40-50% faster than conventional low hydrogen electrodes for welding vertically up. Welding advice : Keep short arc using beaded or weaved runs. 2.5 mm size can also be welded uphill for increased heat input. DC- is preferred.

Welding Invented

When our founder Oscar Kjellberg developed the world's first coated welding electrode in 1904, he launched a company whose innovation and uncompromising standards have helped create the history of welding itself. This legacy continues in the quality, performance, and continuous development of the mild steel welding electrodes we make today.

Consistent Performance and Quality, Every Time

Performance is still what sets ESAB covered electrodes apart. No matter the job at hand, with ESAB mild steel and low hydrogen electrodes you are assured of good penetration, consistent mechanical properties, and X-ray quality welds from batch to batch.

Setting the Standard in Covered Electrodes

ESAB covered electrodes exceed industry criteria for low moisture pick up (moisture pick up 0 to 1000°C < 0.4 after 9 hours at 274°C, 80% HR). You can trust ESAB low hydrogen and mild steel electrodes to deliver tough mechanical properties in high or low temperature environments, high humidity worksites, or the most challenging positional welding projects. Plus, their easy-to-use nature make them a simple choice for welders of all skill levels.
