Tips From Everyday Life In Oxy-Fuel Cutting

Oxy-fuel Cutting Tips that You Need to Know

Did you already know?

Unfortunately, far too few use the full bandwidth of our TDF / SDP database to work with the Oxy-fuel cutting system and to optimize the cutting quality.
Today we would like to bring you closer to a tool that is far too seldom used.

!!!Second preheat time!!!

It should be mentioned in passing that this must always be activated beforehand with a 55 in the program, otherwise, the first preheating time (which should always be a little longer than the second) automatically comes into consideration.

How to use this?

Example 1:
In a program with a flange, for example, the inner hole is cut at the beginning.
Due to the heat generated in the material, it can happen that the existing first piercing time for the second start (outer ring) is too long, and the material begins to splash heavily before the end of the elapsed time. The operator often intervenes manually here.
Solution: Use the second preheating time to avoid this.

Example 2:
The edge start: This also takes less time than is required for the piercing.
Solution: Use the second preheating time

Example 3:
Piercing for holes 1: 1
Programming example:
56 piercing
7 Torch on
++ 250 route "e.g. for 30mm material thickness "
8 Torch off
0 Waiting for the start signal
The slag could now be removed so that the Torch does not collide when it is driven over.
57 Preselection of edge trim
55 Second preheating time
7 Torch on ………… ..
………………………………… .. Use the second preheating time ……………………………………………….
