North Bethesda, Md. – ESAB’s Savage A50 LUX automatic helmet has earned the prestigious 2025 Innovation Award from Professional Tool & Equipment News (PTEN). The magazine recognized the helment for premium features such as HALO headgear, recessed quick-release lens, advanced OpTCS true-color viewing at an EN 1/1/1/1 optical level and unique work light.
"The true measure of the Savage A50 LUX is how it elevates safety and performance for the welder,” said Jay Henderek, Sales Director, Specialty Markets, ESAB. “The integrated work light and best-in-class 1/1/1/1 optics eliminate shadows and distortions, allowing professionals to pre-position accurately and see the puddle clearly. This clear vision is key to reducing eye strain and preventing positioning errors in low-light conditions, ensuring users can work safer and more confidently on every job. “Operators have been asking for an integrated work light, and we answered with the new Savage helmet,” continued Henderek. “The light is protected from spatter, runs on its own AA battery and automatically shuts off with light or when the arc starts.”
In addition, the new Savage helmet features an exclusively designed molded lens recessed in the helmet shell, reducing scratches and damage when laying the helmet on its front. In the event of outer lens replacement, the helmet is developed with a new quick-release design that is easy to access, for fast replacement.
