The latest ESAB Next quarterly release is here, and it’s packed with meaningful innovations designed to make welding operations smarter, more connected, and more efficient. From enhanced process control and deeper robotic integration to powerful digital workflows and user-centric dashboards, this release reflects what ESAB Next stands for: real-world value, continuous improvement, and solutions shaped by customer feedback.
CRAFT WeldMode for carbon steel (Fe) is now released, delivering improved process control with a strong focus on consistent weld appearance and controlled heat input. The new Fe CRAFT lines are optimized for PB welding positions, making them ideal for common fabrication and manufacturing applications. With parameter adjustments, these lines can also be adapted for other positions, such as vertical up providing flexibility without sacrificing quality.
Weld insight is now easier to access. Key weld quality data is displayed directly in the robust feed settings panel, reducing the need for external tools or manual tracking.
New capabilities include:
Support for remote operation is expanding with both software updates and new hardware underway. These additions are part of a broader effort to give welding operators more freedom on the floor without compromising process consistency.
Together, these updates give operators greater flexibility while maintaining consistency and control at the arc.
LP17 introduces Extended I/O Mapping, enabling a deeper level of integration between the robot controller or PLC and the welding power source.
With this capability, all weld process parameters including material, wire diameter, shielding gas, weld mode, synergic line, and related settings—are defined and stored directly in the robot controller or PLC. This eliminates dependency on power‑source‑resident jobs and centralizes control exactly where the process is defined.
Extended I/O Mapping puts full process control in the hands of the robot operator. Whether managing a single cell or a complex multi-source environment, the benefits are immediate:
This enhancement is especially valuable in multi‑cell and multi‑power‑source environments, where flexibility and serviceability are critical.
This release marks another important milestone in ESAB’s digital journey. LP17 expands InduSuite with intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and role-driven workflows. All built around real customer needs.
From AI-assisted digitalization to automated compliance and productivity insights, these updates reinforce ESAB’s commitment to practical, scalable digital solutions for real-world welding operations.
WeldCloud Notes now includes an AI-powered PQR Digitalizer, allowing users to upload scanned PQR documents and automatically convert them into digital records, dramatically reducing manual transcription.
For teams managing large volumes of documentation, this means less time on admin and more confidence in data accuracy:
Welder certificates can now be automatically renewed based on qualifying weld activity recorded in WeldCloud Assembly eliminating unnecessary manual follow-up or retesting.
This removes a common bottleneck in compliance management, keeping certifications current without the usual administrative overhead:
WeldCloud Productivity now supports KPI productivity targets, giving teams a clearer way to define and measure performance goals.
Users can set targets for:
These can be compared against current performance and similar previous periods to support data-driven continuous improvement.
By anchoring targets to real operational data, teams can move from reactive reporting to proactive performance management:
Any custom report can now be promoted to a personal dashboard, giving users immediate visibility into what matters most to their role.
Rather than navigating to reports each time, users now have their most relevant data front and center from the moment they log in:
Gas Source Management has been fully reworked to reflect real-world handling workflows, including frequent refilling and cylinder exchanges.
This helps customers better manage supply, avoid shortages, and plan reordering with confidence.Explore FloCloud
OCTOPUZ now enables a single workflow to create, manage, and deploy weld instructions and sequences for both robotic and manual welding supporting flexible deployment across work cells.
OCTOPUZ Steps introduces enforceable, step-by-step weld guidance for operators, automatically syncing with welding machines to deliver correct jobs and real-time feedback.
This ESAB Next release continues to raise the bar delivering smarter tools, deeper integration, and clearer insights across the welding workflow. Each update is designed not just to add features, but to solve real challenges, streamline daily work, and help customers stay competitive.
This is what’s next, and we’re just getting started.
