North Bethesda, Md. – ESAB announced that its Rogue EM 125, Rogue EM 140 and Rogue EM 190 PRO inverter-based MIG welding power sources are now available for sale at welding supply distribution channels and through retail partners that include Northern® Tool + Equipment.
The easy-to-use, compact and lightweight Rogue MIG welders feature an industrial design with digital controls and a five-handle roll cage for portability, cable management and protection. They appeal to users in the auto repair/restoration, metal art, maintenance, farm/agriculture, and light fabrication and light construction industries. State-of-the-art power-management technology creates positive arc starts and a smooth, stable welding arc with minimal spatter. All Rogue EM welders feature Arc Dynamics, a control to fine-tune arc characteristics for a crisp/stiff arc when welding carbon steel or a smooth/soft arc when welding stainless steel.
“Rogue MIG welders offer an unbeatable combination of performance, power and price,” says Mike Sammons, Global Product Manager, ESAB Light Industrial Products. “The industrial technologies found inside Rogue make it easier to improve weld quality and productivity, delivering benefits for users of all skill levels.”
To help maximize the Rogue experience, ESAB offers a series of 12 Rogue videos that help users choose the right product, set their machine up, understand its controls and fine tune the MIG arc. The Rogue EM 190 will be part of live arc welding demonstrations in ESAB booth B20063 at FABTECH, held September 11 - 14 in Chicago.
The Rogue EM 125 (maximum output of 125A) and Rogue EM 140 (maximum output of 140A) each weigh 28 lbs. and use 115V primary power. They both have a rated welding output of 90A at 30% duty cycle and are optimized for use with .023-in. and .030-in. diameter solid MIG wires or .030-in. gasless flux cored wires. A 14-segment digital display shows parameters and details, and users set voltage and wire feed speed (which controls amperage) with traditional controls.
The Rogue EM 190 PRO connects to 230V primary power, offers a maximum output of 190A, weighs 29 lbs. and features a 5-in. TFT LCD display, largest in its class. Using the display and adjustment knobs, operators can set advanced functions found in industrial systems, such as wire run-in speed (for softer arc starts), burnback control (to ensure the wire does not stick in the weld puddle), 2T/4T trigger control (standard or “latch” mode to reduce hand fatigue), spot welding mode, stitch welding mode and gas pre-flow and post-flow (to prevent weld puddle contamination). A Spool Gun Detection feature automatically detects when a spool gun is connected (the Rogue EM 140 also has this feature).
Rogue EM 190 PRO also provides 27 Synergic Lines (weld programs), which enables one-knob adjustment. With Synergic Control, welders set the wire type, wire diameter and shielding gas mix. Rogue will then automatically set and maintain optimized welding parameters throughout the range of material thicknesses, eliminating the guesswork associated with traditional controls. To weld faster or “hotter,” simply increase wire feed speed. To weld slower or “cooler,” decrease wire feed speed. For further fine-tuning, users can adjust voltage trim control to adjust arc length.
Rogue EM 190 PRO also features Power Factor Correction (PFC). PFC increases electrical efficiency, reducing the likelihood of tripping a circuit breaker. PFC also compensates for the voltage drop that occurs with long extension cords, helping maintain a steady welding output.
