CUT AND BEVEL BIGGER PLATES FASTER, IMPROVE ACCURACY WITH ESAB COMBIREX PRO AUTOMATED CUTTING MACHINE

North Bethesda, Md. – ESAB will feature live demonstrations of its Combirex™ PRO high-precision plasma cutting system equipped with its DMX Beveler, iSeries power source and Vision T6 control in booth #S29025 at FABTECH 2026, October 21-23 in Las Vegas.

The Combirex PRO 4500 model demonstrated at FABTECH offers an additional 19.7 in. of cross travel, which enables users to cut a 10-foot-wide plate, even if the machine is equipped with the DXM Beveler and a water table. The Combirex PRO is available in five different width options from 5 to 10 ft. and with rail lengths from 16.4 to 65.6 feet. In addition to a DMX Beveler, the gantry can be equipped with up to three gas torches, as well as marking tools. 

ESAB is also launching a new inkjet marking system that is more robust and easier to service, as well as adding a new laser marker with a 12- x 12-inch marking window. Laser marking provides more permanent marks, which enhances traceability.

The Combirex PRO features include dual linear rails on the cross beam and heavy-duty crane rails mounted on H-beams on both sides of the machine for X axis movement. A redesigned side carriage increases maximum travel speeds to 1,400 ipm (35.5 m/min), a 40% improvement compared to the original Combirex.

The Combirex PRO comes with ESAB’s next-generation Vision T6™ CNC controller and works with ESAB’s iSeries high-precision plasma power sources in configurations from 200 to 600 amps.

Beveler Benefits

The Combirex PRO with the DMX Beveler enables easier automated plasma programming and accurate bevel cutting with minimal operator intervention. ESAB’s SmartBevel™ Technology includes beveling data and geometric compensations necessary to cut V, X, Y, and K bevels on mild steel from 1/4 to 2 inches thick. Unlike competitive systems, SmartBevel integrates all bevel compensations into the CNC to simplify bevel programming and enable operators to quickly and easily fine tune the program at the machine, reducing set-up time and improving accuracy.

The DMX Beveler also enables ESAB’s SquareCut Technology, which can further improve the productivity of automated plasma cutting operations. SquareCut Technology tilts the torch to compensate for the 1- to 3-degree edge angle inherent in high-precision plasma cutting to provide three distinct benefits: 

• Cutting up to two times faster without increasing bevel angle using the High-Speed Mode.
• A Quality Mode that creates a cut surface with a 0- to 1-degree bevel for more precision.
• Cutting smaller holes with better cylindricity using the Enhanced Hole Technology Mode.
