North Bethesda, Md. – Swift-Cut, an ESAB brand, has announced that the ESAB Precision 130 high-precision plasma power source will now be available as an option for its Swift-Cut XP heavy-duty plasma table, which has also been enhanced. A complete machine starts at about $89,000 for a turnkey package. The system is shipped complete with the torch installed, fully wrapped for safe transportation and delivered ready for installation and training. ESAB will provide live cutting demonstrations in booth W3801 at FABTECH, October 15 – 17 in Orlando, Florida.
“The Precision 130 option for the Swift-Cut XP creates an unmatched combination of precision, material flexibility, affordability and reliability,” says Scott Wirtanen, VP of Sales, USA, Swift-Cut. “By stepping up to the ESAB Precision 130 from a standard definition power source, Swift-Cut XP table users obtain fantastic edge and hole quality, outstanding parts life, up to 20% faster cutting speed, minimal secondary cleanup operations, and reduced gas consumption. These factors combine to lower operating costs by up to 70%.”
The Precision 130 can cut using all popular high-precision plasma/shielding gas combinations, including Air/Air, O2, N2, H35 and the H20 (Water Mist Secondary process) to optimize non-ferrous cutting. It has a cutting output of 130 amps at 100 percent duty cycle. It cuts 3/4 in. steel at 52 IPM and 1/2 in. steel at 85 IPM. Diameter Pro™ cutting technology produces “bolt-ready” holes, even with a 1:1 metal thickness/diameter ratio.
The Precision 130 offers the advantage of a complete, compact system with one main enclosure and a very small gas controller. It measures 20 x 30 x 34 in., so the power source can be positioned close to the table when space is limited.
New features of the Swift-Cut XP include a 360-degree breakaway head to protect the torch in the event of a part collision, Ohmic height sense for more repeatable cut quality and increased consumable life, laser crosshairs for faster and more accurate set-up and a fully-enclosed cutting head and torch assembly for durability. Swift-Cut XP cutting tables are offered in sizes of 5x10 ft. or 6.5x13 ft.
Swift-Cut XP is designed for production cutting of metals across multiple shifts. It uses AC servo motors across all axes for improved accuracy and features a heavy-duty build with a base that is fully welded for strength and rigidity. The gantry is a custom aluminum extrusion with substantial machined end castings and powerful dual drive motors.
“The Swift-Cut XP and the Precision 130 enable fabricators of all sizes to take greater control of their cutting operations, whether that is bringing out-sourced work in-house, improving productivity in existing operations or expanding services to reach new markets,” says Wirtanen.
Swift-Cut set out from the start to be the global leader for the design and manufacture of high quality, affordable CNC cutting solutions. Founded in 2011, Swift-Cut have been firmly committed to providing innovation, quality, and value at every turn.
